Event Volunteer Opportunities
Opportunities to assist with special events throughout the year.

Bike Rodeo Volunteer |
Our kids love their bikes! Assist with Bike Rodeo event. Bike Rodeo is open to 3rd-5th grade students.

Book Fair Volunteer |
Plan and organize annual/semiannual book fair. Works with vendor and librarian to coordinate set up, operation, tear down. This is a fun opportunity to be creative and throw a "big book party" that the entire school enjoys! One to two hour shifts are available, including family night opportunities.

Pajama Read-A-Rama Volunteer |
Assist the event coordinator with event set-up, tear down, obtaining community involvement, and food donations.
|
Fun Run Volunteer |
Assist with the Color Fun Run Fall Fundraiser. Various volunteer opportunities may include helping to procure corporate sponsors, set up and tear down for the event, event promotion and financial reconciliation.

Family Night Programs Volunteer |
Help with set up/tear down and event coordination for family nights throughout the year.
|
Culture Fair Volunteer |
Always a school favorite! Come help coordinate or participate in our international evening. Activities will consist of ethnic food sampling and cultural performances. Participants can host a country table to showcase your culture or a culture you love or just assist during the event.

Field Day Volunteer |
The kids LOVE this annual event. Volunteer for a morning and/or afternoon shift at our Field Day event.

Teacher Appreciation Week Volunteer |
This volunteer opportunity is a chance to assist in planning a fun week to celebrate our teachers. Assists in coordinating teacher appreciation week events and meals. Secures teacher appreciation gifts and donations. Works with the Hospitality Chair.

Year Round Volunteer Opportunities
Various opportunities to volunteer throughout the year.

Communications Volunteer |
We need your help getting the word out! Activities include: bi-weekly newsletter, social media posts, weekly highlights and PTA marketing!

Hospitality Volunteer |
Assist with restaurant and parent food donations, and/or set-up and tear down for various PTA events and teacher appreciation celebrations throughout the school year. Work with Hospitality Chair.

PawMart Volunteer |
Volunteer to work at PawMart, our school store where students can purchase items using the Husky bucks they have earned. PawMart is open to all students during lunch once a month, typically the 2nd week of the month. Pawmart will be held during lunchtime for 3rd-5th grade on Thursday and for K-2nd grades will be on Friday.

Box Tops Volunteer |
Let's get the school some money! Collect, count and submit Box Tops throughout the year and help encourage friendly competition between the grade levels! Award the trophy to some VERY excited students during Spirit Assemblies.

Mission Possible Kids Volunteer |
Come help lead a small grade level student group working on service projects AKA "missions". MPK will be held after school on 2 Fridays per month.

Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students) Volunteer |
Open to all dads, step-dads, grandfathers or other father figures to Harrington students. Volunteer one day at any time during the year. Watch DOGS help to provide a positive male role model for the students and help provide an extra set of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.

Spirit Wear Volunteer |
Activities may include: designing, ordering, managing inventory, sales and distribution of school spirit wear such as t-shirts.

After School Program Volunteer
|
Keep the kids busy! Activities include: assisting with or setting up after school programs such as Art club, Chess, Cooking, and STEM. |
Library Volunteer |
Assist in the school library. Scheduling to be coordinated by the Librarian.

Healthy Lifestyles Volunteer |
Let's get movin'! Work with Coach Thompson on health initiatives for the school. Help schedule activities for Healthy Husky Week in September.

Safety and Youth Protection Volunteer |
Promotes programs for securing the protection and safety of the children at school and at home. Works with staff to coordinate annual Friendship Week and Red Ribbon Week events.

Parent Education Volunteer |
Works closely with school counselor and helps coordinate parent education events and communications.
|
Arts in Education Volunteer |
Promotes the arts on campus, coordinates National PTA’s Reflections arts program in the fall through event communication, procuring judges, recognizing winners and advancing entries. Works with the Arts in Education chair.

Yearbook Assistant |
Take photos of school and grade level events for submission to the Yearbook Coordinator. Also, assistant will help with page set up in creating the yearbook and other aspects of creating a final yearbook.

PTA Office Volunteer |
Assist in management and distribution of documents to students. Volunteers will help on an as needed basis to help with the clerical aspects of the PTA.

Grade Level Volunteer Opportunities
Assist in a specific grade level throughout the year.

Grade-Level Volunteer |
Assist a specific grade with workroom, lunch duty, reading to students, and other duties, as needed.
|
Grade-Level Yearbook Photographer |
Photograph and document all various events (class parties, field trips, etc.) for a specific grade. Be the point of contact for anyone who may need to use the photos for the yearbook.

Kindergarten Lunch Room Volunteer |
Come help our kindergarten friends in the cafeteria during lunch time. It is guaranteed to be a fun time!
