April Volunteer of the Month
Congratulations to Silvana Best – Silvana is the April Volunteer of the Month!
Silvana, Mom to Tyler, 4th grade, has been helping Harrington PTA raise money for fun school and community events PTA gets to host for the last several years.
Anyone enjoy Spirit Nights? The flyer you see and stickers your kiddos come home with - she makes those. Each month Silvana reaches out to local restaurants, speaks to managers, and arranges a fun night for the Harrington Community to gather and support the school.
Who bought Bundt Cakes? For the last three years Silvana has brought her expertise to our Spring Fundraiser. As you can imagine this is not an easy task - she coordinates with the restaurant, enters all cake orders, takes charge of finances, arranges fun prizes and so much more…. She and her trusted team are now experts at this event and we couldn’t do it without her experience – talk about a well-oiled fundraising machine!
There is no surprise that Silvana’s favorite event this year was the Nothing Bundt Cake fund raiser:
“This year the Nothing Bundt Cake fundraiser was my favorite event. It was so much fun at the assembly where we announced our 2024 totals and prizes to the kids, which included taping Dr. Jamar to the wall. You could hear the kids’ cheers across town. They worked so hard at the fundraiser and we had more participation this year than ever before”

Each year (beginning July 1st), individuals must submit an application in order to volunteer at PISD. Applications take several days to process and all requirements must be approved prior to volunteering.
